Men's Soccer Announces 2013 Captains

PHILADELPHIA - On the eve of the first match of 2013, James C. Gentle Head Coach of Men's Soccer announced that his club will be guided by four co-captains. Stephen Baker, Jonny Dolezal, Ethan Jones and Duke Lacroix were named captains for the 109th season of Penn Soccer.

Dolezal will serve as a captain for the second season in a row after serving as co-captain in 2012. A defender with 45 career appearances, Dolezal was an honorable mention All-Ivy defender in 2012.

The other three captains will be serving their first years with armbands for the Red and Blue. A dynamic duo up top, Baker and Lacroix combined for 11 goals in 2012 and have a combined 29 goals between them as Quakers. Both have a pair of All-Ivy selections, with Lacroix owning the 2011 Ivy League Rookie of the Year Award.

A senior defender, Jones has is a versatile member of the Red and Blue's substitution package. Last season, he picked up his first career assist with a helper against Rider.

The Quakers begin 2013 with a pair of matches at Penn Park, hosting Stony Brook on Friday (9 p.m.) and Sacred Heart on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
