Men's Soccer Edged by Princeton, 1-0

Princeton, N.J. – The University of Pennsylvania men’s soccer team suffered another tough loss, this team falling to Princeton, 1-0, this afternoon. After cruising during a seven-game unbeaten streak earlier in the season, the Quakers have dropped their last six contests.

The Tigers’ (8-4-4, 3-1-2 Ivy League) Ben Young tallied the game’s only goal at 33:02 as he broke past the Penn (6-8-2, 2-3-1 Ivy League) defenders and struck from 10 yards out. Sophomore goalkeeper Daniel Cepero made four saves, while Princeton’s Erik White had three stops.

Penn outshot Princeton, 10-9 and held an 8-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The Quakers will close out the 2004 campaign on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. in a Senior Day match-up against Harvard on Rhodes Field.
