Philadelphia The University of Pennsylvania dropped a hard-fought contest to Brown, 4-0, this afternoon on Rhodes Field. The Quakers are amidst a four-game losing skid.
Brian Joyce got Brown (7-5-2, 3-2-0 Ivy League) on the scoreboard in the 27th minute. The Bears came out in the second half firing, as Ibrahim Diane scored from the right side at 46:11 to give Brown a 2-0. Penn, who was playing a man down for the last 34 minutes of the game, continued to battle throughout the half. Keith Caldwell put the Bears ahead, 3-0, on a pass from Marcos Romaniero at 87:56. Brown added one more goal with :45 seconds remaining as Kevin Davies struck home goalkeeper Chris Gomez’s blast from the far end of the field.
Penn outshot Brown 10-9. Penn keeper Daniel Cepero made three saves, while Gomez stopped two shots.
The Quakers are back in action on Nov. 3 as they travel to American University followed by an Ivy League road game at Princeton on Nov. 6.
