Men's Soccer Falls to Columbia on Late PK, 1-0

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn men's soccer team had a couple near misses, but submitted to a 1-0 defeat at Columbia, Saturday. The Lions were awardeda penalty kick in the 80th minute and converted it for what would bethe winner.

The Quakers' Loukas Tasigianis and Christian Barreiro put two shots on goal in the game and Alex Takakuwa saw one stolen by Columbia keeper Alex Aurrichio, who had five saves in the game.

Freshman keeper Garon Smith got the nod and saw his first minutes in goal, making five saves in the second half alone.

The Quakershavea quick turnaround with a game Tuesday against American.It will be the final non-league game forPenn. The match is set to start at 3 p.m. in Washington,D.C.
