PHILADELPHIA --The Philadelphia soccer community gathered on Tuesday night to celebrate the six Division I men's programs at the annual Philadelphia Soccer Six Banquet at the Sheraton University City.
At the banquet, the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer team was honored for its play during the 2014 season with the Team of the Year award. The Quakers went 2-0 in official PS6 matches, and were 3-0 overall against Philadelphia opponents.
Duke Lacroix was recognized as the Chris Jones Player of the Year as voted by the Soccer Six coaches. The senior had two goals and two assists in PS6 matches in 2014 as part of his seven-goal, six-assist season.
Head coach Rudy Fuller was named the Bill Harris Coach of the Year by his fellow coaches.
The Red and Blue swept the offensive statistical leader awards, with Alec Neumann leading all Philadelphia soccer players with 21 points and eight goals. Duke Lacroix and Forrest Clancy shared the assist leader award, each recording six assists during the 2014 campaign.
Lacroix and Neumann were named Philadelphia Soccer Six All-Stars, while Austin Kuhn and Sam Wancowicz were named to the Soccer Six All-Rookie Team.
