While Penn boasts an 8-2-3 record and a 2-1 Ivy record to the Bulldogs 5-6-2, 1-2 Ivy mark, Yale has played impressively in recent games. The Elis grinded out a scoreless tie with No. 15 UConn, tied and lost a 2-1 contest with Boston College on a buzzer-beater. They also found their first Ivy win, blanking Cornell.
Defensively, both Penn and Yale boast strong lines. Penn has allowed 10 goals, while Yale has only allowed 11 and put up six clean sheets. The Quakers recorded their eighth of the season last week at Dartmouth and returned to the dominating defense that won them seven consecutive shutouts at the start of the season.
Yale’s offense is led by Eric Meyer with three goals and three assists. For Penn, Omid Shokoufandeh and Andrew Ferry have both registered double-digit points. Eight players have scored at least two goals for the Quakers this season.
The Penn attack will face Travis Chulick in goal for Yale. He boasts an 0.81 goals-against average. The Bulldogs will be shooting at Drew Healy who shaved his goals-against average to 0.72 with his eighth shutout last weekend.
