Ivy League Release | Philadelphia Soccer Six Release

PHILADELPHIA -After a weekend which featured two thrilling wins to begin the 2014 season, the University of Pennsylvania's men's soccer team picked up some well-earned weekly honors on Monday. Freshman Austin Kuhn was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week, while senior captain Duke Lacroix was selected Philadelphia Soccer Six Player of the Week.

Kuhn, a Wyomissing, Pa. native, scored the game-winning goal on his first collegiate shot on goal Friday night in Penn's 2-0 win over Drexel. Kuhn scored in the 54' to break the scoreless tie and ignite a Penn offense which struck again just over five minutes later. Kuhn was also named to the Philadelphia Soccer Six honor roll.

Lacroix, no stranger to weekly accolades during his career, earned his fourth career Philadelphia Soccer Six Player of the Week award after scoring the game-winning goal in the 90' against Central Connecticut State on Sunday. Laroix struck with 0:42 remaining on the clock, finding the victory for the Quakers after CCSU had scored twice in the second half -- including the equalizier in the 88'.

The Quakers will venture on the road for the first time in 2014 this weekend for a pair of matches in Washington. Up first is a match with Seattle on Sept. 12 at 10 p.m. EST followed by a Sept. 14 meeting with No. 4 Washington at 4 p.m. EST.
