PHILADELPHIA - Christian Barreiro and Tobi Olopade scored against Navy to lead the Quakers to a 2-0 shutout victory and the Penn Soccer Classic title. The Quakers improved to 3-1-2 on the season while Navy fell to 4-3-0.

The scoring started early after Olopade was brought down in the box in the second minute. Barreiro lined up for the penalty kick and easily notched the Quakers' first goal.

The teams battled through nearly 82 more minutes before Olopade picked up a throw in from junior Zach Barnett and dribbled in for the insurance goal.

The real story of the game was Penn's defensive effort. The Quakers held Navy to just two shots in the game and neither of them were on goal giving junior keeper Ben Berg a clean sheet with no saves. For Navy, Tyler Bristol got a workout with seven saves.

A few of those saves were thwartingscoring chances forLoukas Tasigianis who had four shots in the game, and had a goal called back with an offsides call. Senior Alex Takakuwa and newcomer Travis Cantrell also came close to scoring for the Red and Blue.

The Quakers will now turn their sights to Temple. The Owls are coming off a 2-0 win against Albany Sunday and will host the Red and Blue in Ambler, Pa.on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m.
