Men's Soccer's Brushett Garners Arthur Ashe Award

PHILADELPHIA - Senior Richard Brushett of the men's soccer team has been named to the second team of the Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar Award. The award is presented by Diverse Issues In Higher Education to honor undergraduate students of color whoare committedto achieving both academically and athletically.

In the fall, Brushett played in all 13 games, starting four on the right wing, while taking nine shots and collecting a pair of assists. The chemical and biomolecular engineering major also earned first-team CoSIDA Academic All-District honors,andhe was also named to that team in 2003.

To be eligible for the Arthur Ashe Award, student-athletes must hold a minimum 3.2 GPA. Brushett is the only member of an Ivy League team to earn the honor.
