Men's Squash Can't Take Out No. 2 Princeton, 9-0

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn men's squash team fell to Princeton Wednesday, 9-0. The second-ranked Tigers proved to be too much for the Quakers as Penn drops to 6-5 on the season. Bobby Dickey at No. 11 and senior Pierce Cravens at No. 12 earned the only victory of the day for the Quakers.

On Senior Night for the Quakers, senior co-captain Lee Rosen went up against the nation's top-ranked player at the No. 1 slot. Princeton's Mauricio Sanchez proved to be too much on this night, though, as Rosen fell 2-9, 5-9, 1-9. At No. 2, senior Spencer Kurn also fell, losing 3-9, 5-9, 1-9. Ryan Rayfield, the other senior co-captain, dropped his match at No. 9, 6-9, 4-9, 5-9.

Senior Pierce Cravens at No. 12 was a different story. After dropping the first match 5-9, Cravens turned up the heat and won the next three games, 9-3, 9-4, 9-5 to earn the first victory of the day for Penn.

After Princeton wrapped up the overall match 9-0, all that was left for the Quakers was junior Bobby Dickey at No. 11. With his teammates crowded around the court, Dickey jumped out to a 2-0 lead, winning 9-2, 9-3. He then dropped the next two games, 4-9, 5-9. But with what remained of a large crowd rallying around him, Dickey rebounded to take the match with a 9-5 victory in the fifth game.

The Quakers are next in action on Saturday when they travel to Harvard to take on the Crimson at noon. They will then head on to Hanover, N.H., to take on Dartmouth on Sunday at 11 a.m.
