PHILADELPHIA - The Penn men's squash team fell in its 2010-11 season opener Saturday at the Ringe Squash Courts, dropping a 5-4 decision to Cornell.
The Quakers got four-game victories from Trevor McGuinness at the No. 5 spot, Porter Drake at No. 7, and William Browne at No. 8. In the No. 9 spot, John Dudzik came back from a 2-1 deficit in games to gain a five-game victory.
The Big Red's victory came at the top of the ladder -- they won every match in the top four spots, highlighted by the match at No. 3 where Thomas Spettigue overcame a 2-0 deficit in games to Penn's James Clark to win in five.
Penn returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 1 when the Quakers travel to Franklin & Marshall for an 8 p.m. start.
