Men's Squash Heads to Williams and Amherst

PHILADELPHIA - Coming off a 6-3 victory over the Naval Academy on Wednesday, the Penn men's squash team will take to the road again Saturday, traveling to Williams for an 11 a.m. start and then to Amherst for a 5 p.m. match in Western Mass.

The No. 8 Quakers (3-3) have won their last two contests this season and look to repeat last year's success over the Ephs and Lord Jeffs. Penn came away with a 9-0 victory over Amherst and a 6-3 win over Williams on Jan. 17, 2009. The Red and Blue earned its other wins this season from Franklin & Marshall and Brown.

The No. 10 Williams Ephs have jumped out to a fast 8-3 start and are riding a four-game win streak. Their most recent win came last Sunday, beating Bowdoin 8-1. They also defeated Navy 8-1 - the one opponent Penn and Williams have shared at this point.

Amherst, ranked 16th, has started the 2009-10 season 3-1. They earned 9-0 wins over Vassar and MIT, along with a 6-3 defeat of Northeastern. The Lord Jeffs lost their most recent match to Middlebury, 5-4, on Wednesday.
