PHILADELPHIA – Looking to end Ivy play and the regular season with momentum, the eigth-ranked University of Pennsylvania men’s squash team will look to take the first step in doing so this Friday in Ithaca against No.7 Cornell at 5 p.m.
Penn (7-3, 3-2 Ivy) is coming off an intense week of Ivy play which saw the Quakers upend No. 7 Princeton for the first time since 1974, lose a hard-fought match to No. 3 Yale, and defeat Brown.
Facing Cornell (6-5, 3-2 Ivy), Penn seeks to snap a six-match losing streak against the Big Red, dating back to November of 2006. Cornell defeated the Quakers 7-2 in last year’s match in Philadelphia.
Penn’s success this season has been dependent upon its depth led by co-captains John Dudzik (7-3) and Jack Maine (7-3), along with Michael Mutscheller (7-3), George Lemmon (7-3), August Frank (6-4) and Rahil Fazelbhoy (6-4).
The Quakers hold the overall series advantage over Cornell, 43-19.
