Men's Squash Wins Second of Day, 9-0 Over Williams

PHILADELPHIA – Inits second match of the day, the No. 4-ranked University of Pennsylvania men’s squash team defeated Williams, 9-0, Saturday at Ringe Courts. The Ephs gave Penn (6-0) more than they expected, but the Quakers managed to hold them off.

Three of Penn’s nine matches went to five games and three others went to four.

At the No. 1 position, Gilly Lane picked up his second win of the day with a quick, 3-0, victory over Jon Barry. Graham Bassett also picked up his second win of the day at No. 7.

After losing his first game, Ben Ende came back to win his next two games and then took Game 5 to pick up a hard-fought victory. Parker Justi also had a five-game win -- he won his first game, fell in Games 2 and 3, but bounced back to take the final two games.

Andrew Zimmerman picked up a 3-0 win at the No. 8 position.

Penn is back in action Jan. 20 at Franklin & Marshall at 1 p.m.
