ANNAPOLIS, Md. Mark Froot has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Malloy Division at the Collegiate Squash Association’s Individual Championships. After earning a bye through the first round, Froot defeated Philip Sopher of Princeton, 9-5, 9-1, 9-7, to become one of the last eight players standing. He will take on Moshe Sarfati of Yale in the quarterfinals.
Also for the men, senior co-captain Lee Rosen fell in the quarterfinals of the Potter Division consolation bracket. After winning the first two games 9-3, 10-8, Rosen dropped the last three, 9-6, 9-3, 10-8, to fall. Ryan Rayfield, also a senior co-captain, fell in the second round of the Malloy Division, 9-6, 9-2, 9-5.
The Quakers will be back on the courts in their respective brackets on Sunday to complete the championships.
