Men's Swimming Earns First Win of Season

Penn men's swimming earned its first victory of the season, defeating La Salle, 131-112, on Nov. 23. Patrick Gallagher captured wins in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events to lead the Quakers.

Gallagher propelled the Red and Blue (1-2) to victory at the beginning of the meet with a time of 1:43.28 in the 200-yard freestyle and came back to finish first in the 100-yard freestyle event with a time of 47.38. Kevin Scott continued the winning for Penn with his victory in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.76 and Yuchi Zhang closed out the men's individual events with a win in the 200-yard backstroke event, finishing in 2:09.17.

A pair of men's relays teams also earned victories as Penn won the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:08.42 and the 400-yard medley relay, finishing with a time of 3:32.30.

Penn next travels to New York City for a meet at Columbia on Dec. 10.
