Men's Swimming Finishes 13th at ECAC Championships


Pittsburgh, Pa. - The University of Pennsylvania men's swim team finished in 13th out of 24 teams this weekend at the ECAC Championships. The Quakers top finishes came in the 200-yard butterfly, where the men finished in fifth and sixth place. Senior Brian Funk finished with a time of 1:54.04 in fifth, followed by J.T. Heffernan in sixth place with a time of 1:54.37.

The Quakers other top finish came in the 100-yard backstroke where Neville Mitchell finished in seventh-place with a time of 52.67. As for the relay teams the Red and Blue finished in 14th in both the 400-yard free relay and the 400-yard medley relay. The free relay team composed of Dave Bohman, Kyle Williams, Brandon Thompson and Noah Pink finished with a time of 3:16.26. The 400-yard medley relay team of Mitchell, Heffernan, Alex Keeney and Funk which also finished in 14th, recorded a time of 3:36.91.

The men return to action March 3, in Cambridege Mass., when they compete in the EISL Championships.
