Men's Swimming Finishes Second At Nike Invitational

KENYON, Ohio - The Quakers were unable to overtake host Kenyon on Sunday, finishing second in the Nike Invitational this past Thursday through Saturday.

The Penn Men's Swimming team took second with a score of 1446.5, trailing just host Kenyon who put up 1531 points in victory.

The closest race of the day was in the 500 free, where senior James Fee set a pool record with a time of 4:27.78 and finished just three-tenths of a second ahead of Ian Stewart-Bates of Kenyon. Freshman Stephen Carroll finished third, while Cameron Hood took fourth.

Sophomore Brendan McHugh took another first, this time in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:03.48,and followed it up a a few events later withthe top spot in the 200IM (1:51.00).

Finally in the last event of theweekend,the Quakers took second in the 400 yard free relay as the quartet of Brendan McHugh, Peter Amos, Chris Buck and Brad Farris finished in 3:03.59.

Penn is off until January, when they travel to swim in Florida on the fifth.
