Men's Swimming Gets By Brown 143-137

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. - The Quakers won seven different events, and took numerous second place finishes as they held off Brown 143-137 on the campus of Florida International University on Tuesday afternoon.

Sophomore Brendan McHugh, freshman Conor Blackwood and sophomore Robert Shilton took first, third and fifth in the 200 IM, capturing 13 of a possible 19 points in the second to last event of the afternoon. The points provided an insurmountable lead going into the final event, the 400 yard free relay, and raised the Quakers' Ivy record to an even 2-2.

McHugh spearheaded the Red and Blue effort on the day, as he won two other events in addition to the 200 IM. The second year also took top honors in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, with times of 57.76 and 206.59 respectively.

Senior James Fee also swam well, collecting a first place finish in the 500 free (4:44.58) and taking second in the 200 free (1:43.63), and the 400 yard free relay (3:13.82).
