PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off the team's first victory of the season, the Penn men's swimming team looks to continue its strong swimming when it travels to Princeton on Friday.
The Quakers will be taking part in a tri-meet between Ivy foes Princeton and Cornell, beginning at 5 p.m. as they seek to open their season with two more victories. In the team's first meet of the season the Red and Blue beat Columbia 161-139.
The meet is the first Ivy competition for Princeton and second for Cornell as both teams pose challenges. Princeton, the defending Ivy League champions expects to be strong once again, while Cornell finished third at last year's EISL championships. Last season in their tri-meet, the Tigers beat the Red and Blue 175-125, while Penn took down Cornell 189-111.
A key matchup for the Quakers will be between Brendan McHugh and Tiger Jon Christensen who split the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke titles a season ago. Cornell also has their own strong breaststroker in sophomore Michael Cai, who won both the 100 and the 200 in his first meet of the year.
Penn diver Jeff Cragg, off two first place finishes in the one-meter and three-meter last weekend will also be tested by returning Ivy Champion Dan Dickerson of Princeton.
