PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Quakers used multiple top ten finishes to take 10th place at the ECAC Championships held at the University of Pittsburgh.
Penn recorded six top ten finishes, including four in individual events. Freshman Daniel Gutnayer had a hand in three of the victories. The first year took sixth in the 400 I.M. as he finished in 4:07.36 and also was the ninth to touch in the 200 yard breast (2:06.91). Gutnayer served as the anchor of the 800 yard free relay, and took ninth in the event along with freshman Logan Ware, junior Chip Van Tassell and Christopher Delafuente.
Sophomore Andrew Winder also swam well in the 400 I.M., taking 10th in the event with his time of 4:09.30. Fellow classmate Andrew Kaminski finished eighth in the 100 yard breast with a time of 58.34. The quartet of junior Joe Woodard, Kaminski, Delafuente and junior Miki Silver had Penn's other top ten finish, taking tenth and swimming the 200 yard medley relay in 1:35.23.
Penn returns to the pool next weekend when the Quakers travel to Princeton for the Ivy League Championships, held Thursday through Saturday.
