Men's Swimming Places Eighth after Day One of EISL's

EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – After the first day of competition at the EISL Championships at the Nassau County Aquatics Center the University of Pennsylvania men’s swimming and diving team is in eighth place with 161 points. Princeton leads the pack with 437 points.

Junior Jason McGrath, who was competing in the B-Final of the 500-yard freestyle finished 14th at 4:35.42. Devon Carr (4:37.48) also competed and finished 23rd.

Senior Pat Maloney (1:52.67) finished 10th overall and second in the B-Final of the 200-yard IM. Alex Silvester finished 24th clocking in at 1:56.78.

Kevin Scott (21.27) recorded a 15th place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Patrick Gallagher (21.03) placed 18th and John Gillette (21.56) was 23rd.

In the final event of the evening, the 400-yard medley relay team took sixth-place. Teddy Rainaud, Jon Kaufman, Maloney and Gallagher finished at 3:23.28.
