PHILADELPHIA - The men's swimming team completed a weekend meet versus Cornell and Princeton on Saturday, taking care of the Big Red, 179.5-101.5,but falling to rival and defending Ivy League champion Princeton by a count of 168-112.
Brendan McHugh was up to his usual tricks, winning both the 100 and 200 Breaststroke races easily. Rhoads Worster swam the 100 Butterfly in 50.85, nicking Princeton's Michael Strand, who finished the race in 50.86. In the weekend's final event, Penn easily outpaced the field, winning the 400 freestlye relay by nearly six full seconds over Cornell's 'A' team, with Alex Porter and Dillon McHugh opening the race, and Brendan McHugh and Worster providing the final kick.
Penn runner-up finishers on the weekend were the 200 MedleyRelay team, Cam Hood in the 500 and 1000 Freestyle, Jeff Cragg in 1- and 3-meter diving,Porter in the 50 Freestyle,Sam Ruddy in the 200 Freestyle and Konner Scott in the200 IM.
The team jumps back into the water in two weeks when they take part in the Total Performance Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College, an event the team won last season.
