Men's Tennis Begins Its Fall Season

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn men's tennis team begins its season this fall by splitting the squad between the Princeton Invitational and the Georgetown Invitational.

Both invitationals willfeature some of top teams from the region. Leading the way for the Quakers at the Princeton Invitational will be senior captain HichamLaalej. The captain returns as a fifth year senior after missing the 2009-2010 season due to a broken foot. During the 2008-09 season, Laalej was a first-team All-Ivy selection and ranked as high as second in the Northeast Region.

Junior Eugen Brazdil will also be at the Princeton Invitational and looks to out his crown. Last year he won the Flight A singles championship in his first tournament as a Quaker after transferring from UCLA.

Leading the Red and Blue at Georgetown will be juniors Phil Law and Jason Lin.Law went 16-11 last season at the No. 3 position while Lin was 15-13 at the No. 4 spot.

"We have a large team, so this is a great opportunity to get all of our players some qualitycompetition," said Devore."Both line-ups we are sending should have an opportunity to bring home titles. We just started classes, and haveonly had a handful of practices, but the guys are already playing some good ball and are eager to get out there and compete."
