Philadelphia, Pa. -- The University of Pennsylvania men's tennis team continued its spring success in the Levy Tennis Pavilion on Saturday witha4-3 victory over Richmond. The Quakers won four singles matches to take the victory.
The team of Tas Tobias and Joe Lok posted a8-4loss at first doubles while Brandon O'Gara and Todd Lecher fell at No. 2 doubles, 8-4. At No. 3 doubles, David Lynn and Mikhail Bekker fell, 8-0.
The Quakers came back in the singles, with Bekkercollecting the first point at No. 1 singles. He defeated Derek Schwandt, 6-1, 6-2.In the second position,Lynn fell to Matthew Cabana, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 3,Tobiasfell to Jeppy Moss, 6-4, 6-0.The Quakers went on to win the nextthree points to win the match.Justin Lavner defeatedDoug Bankerat No. 4, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Lecher won at No. 5 over Matt Stillwagon, 6-4, 6-3. At the No. 6 position,Craig RubindefeatedBrett Waikart, 6-2, 6-2to close out the match.
The Quakers are next in action on Sunday, Feb. 13 when they host St. Bonaventure at 11 a.m. in the Levy Tennis Pavilion.
