PHILADELPHIA - The Quakers didn't even drop a set in their 7-0 victory over Fordham on Wednesday afternoon at the Levy Tennis Pavilion.
Penn had little trouble playing without its normal top four in singles, as no opponent record more than four points in a set. The Red and Blue also cruised in doubles, led by the No. 1 team of freshmen Ivan Turudic and Zach Katz who won 8-0. The No. 2 team of senior Zach Gorn and freshman Lucas Andreika took their match 8-4 and the No. 3 duo of senior Dmitry Bury and Kyle Roth won 8-3.
In singles, Roth was one of three players to win their match without giving up a point as he took No. 6 singles handily, 6-0, 6-0. Sophomore Mark Milbrandt matched that score at No. 4 singles and freshman Nikola Kocovic also won 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1.
Sophomore Jason Magnes was victorious at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-4, while Gorn took No. 4 by matching 6-1 scores. Bury earned the final victory of the evening at No. 5, winning his match 6-3, 6-2.
The Quakers return to Levy on Saturday when they host Stony Brook at 1 p.m. The Penn women's team will also be facing the Seawolves at 1 p.m., as the two teams will split the courts.
