Men's Tennis Downs No. 73 Yale, Extends Win Streak to 11

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania men’s tennis team continues to make history with each win. Last week, the Quakers tied a 32-year record with 10 consecutive wins. On Friday Penn made it 11 and tied a 70 year record with a 5-2 win over No. 73 Yale at Levy Pavilion.

After Mikhail Bekker and Jonathan Boym won the first doubles match, Justin Fox and Brandon O'Gara clinched the point with an 8-6 win over Milosz Gudzowski and Chris Lawler.

Bekker picked up the Red and Blue’s first singles point over Gudzowski 6-0, 6-0. Boym followed with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Jeff Dawson. Joseph Lok wrapped up the match defeating Michael Caldwell 7-6(1), 6-4. Fox put the icing on the cake with a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0(5) win over Rory Green.

Penn is now 14-4 overall and 2-0 in the Ivy League. The Bulldogs drop to 7-7 overall and 0-1 in the Ancient Eight.

The Quakers take on another ranked opponent on Saturday when they host No. 70 Brown at noon at Levy Pavilion.
