Mens Tennis Dropped at No. 24 San Diego, 5-2

SAN DIEGO, Calif.– Facing one of its toughest non-conference opponents of the season, the University of Pennsylvania men’s tennis team fell 5-2 to No. 24 San Diego on Thursday.

Matt Nardella and Blaine Willenborg were the two singles’ victors for Penn, each winning matches in three sets. After splitting the first two at No. 4, Nardella was up 4-0 in the third sen on Josh Pahge before he eventually retired. Willenborg pulled out a 3-6, 6-3, 10-6 win at No. 5.

The Quakers will play one more match out in California, taking on San Diego State tomorrow.
