PHILADELPHIA -Playing their second home match of 2016, the University of Pennsylvania defeated Middle Tennessee State, 5-4. The Quakers picked up the doubles point and four of the six singles matches en route to their second win of the season.
Penn earned the first point of the match by taking two fo the three doubles contests. Thomas Spratt and Blaine Willenborg fought their way to a 7-6 win, while Kyle Mautner and Matt Nardella cruised to a 6-3 triumph.
Mautner then worked his way to a win in the top spot taking his sets 6-4 and 6-3. Nardella also won his individual match, winning 7-6 and 6-4.
Nicholai Westergaard put the match out of reach when he closed out back-to-back 6-4 sets. Willenborg followed suit in his match, giving Penn a fifth point.
