PHILADELPHIA - The Penn men's tennis team (1-1) stays on-campus this week, hosting Georgetown on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., followed by Stony Brook on Friday at 1 p.m. from the Levy Tennis Pavilion.
The Quakers started out the year with a split, losing their spring opener to Penn State, 6-1, before coming back and delivering the same treatment to Buffalo in a 6-1 win at Levy. Jeremy Court was the only Penn player to make it through the weekend unscathed, winning matches at No. 2 against the Nittany Lions and No. 1 against the Bulls. Nikola Kocovic (No. 2), Blaine Willenborg (No. 4), Vim De Alwis (No.5) and Austin Kaplan (No. 6) all recorded wins in singles against Buffalo as well.
In doubles action, Kaplan teamed with Zach Katz and De Alwis paired with Sylvester Wee for Penn's two wins on the weekend.
Georgetown enters Wednesday with a spring record of 0-4, all of its defeats coming on the road. Charlie Caris has compiled a 2-2 record playing the No. 1 position for the Hoyas, while Daniel Khanin went 1-1 at No. 2 in Georgetown's most recent matches.
Friday will serve as the season opener for Stony Brook. The Seawolves had two matches scheduled last weekend at Army, but both were cancelled due to the poor travel conditions in the Northeast.
