Men's Tennis Plays Well at ITA Regional

HANOVER, N.H. - Five singles players and all three doubles teams continue competing on Saturday in the ITA Northeast Regional at Dartmouth.

Freshmen Mark Milbrandt was forced to qualify for the main draw, which consists of a field of128, but was up to the task. The first year defeated Mathew Kane of Niagra in three sets 6-1, 6-7, 6-3, followed by Tripp Johnson of Army 6-4, 6-4 to qualify for Fridays main draw.

Milbrandt then continued his strong play in the first round of the main draw, defeating St. Bonaventure's Chris Post 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Fellow freshmen Jason Magnes also won his first round match, defeating Hofstra's Stian Tvedt 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

Sophomore transfer Eugen Brazdil is seeded #2 and had a bye in the first round, along with sophomore Phil Law (#15 seed) and Adam Schwartz (#17 seed).

In doubles play Brazdil/Milbrandt are seeded #8 and received a bye while the duo of Schwartz/Lin defeated Chiujdea/Erickson of NYIT 8-6. Phil Law and Magnes also won, 8-5 over Gorham/Klanke of Brown.

Play continues Saturday and concludes through to Tuesday.
