Philadelphia, Pa. -- The University of Pennyslvania Men's Tennis team concluded play at the Penn Classic held at the Levy Pavilion with one title and successful showings from many other Quakers.
In singles action, sophomore Mikhail Bekkerdefeated Mark Clemente of Columbia, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 to advance to the final of the A Flight singles. Bekker lost in the final to Diego Alvarado of Manhattan, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. In the B flight,freshman Joseph Lok fell to Morgan Bauer of St. John's, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-4.The other semi final was all-Penn, as freshman Brandon O'Gara and sophomore Jeremy Steglitz battled to see who would advance to face Bauer in the final. O'Gara finished on top, 6-0, 6-3. He thenfell to Bauer in the final, 6-3, 6-4.
In doubles action, it wasan all-Penn final on Sunday, as the team of Bekker and senior David Lynn took on Lok/Tobias for the title. Lok/Tobias came out on top, 8-6, to become Penn Classic Doubles Champions.
