Men's Track and Field Finishes Strong at Wake Forest Open

Winston-Salem, N.C.—Tim Kaijala posted Penn’s best finish in the Wake Forest Open Saturday, crossing the line second out of 142 competitors in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:54.47.

In the field, James Foreman jumped to fourth place in the section b pole vault with a height of 4.55 meters.

Willie Harris finished sixth in the 400 meter hurdles at 53.97, and also finished eleventh in the 110 meter hurdles finals.

On the relays side, the 4x400 team finished sixth with a time of 3:15.38, while the 4x100 squad notched a seventh-place finish at 41.84.

Top finishers from Day 1 of the Wake Forest Open included Luke Grau, who came in fourth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:43.47, and Larry Contrella finished fifth in the 10,000 meters at 31:17.97.

Alejandro Shepard also recorded a fifth–place finish, he clocked in at 9:25.53 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

The team next travels to Annapolis, Md. to compete in the Navy Invite on March 29th.
