PHILADELPHIA – Its been a fast start to the season for several members of the University of Pennsylvania men's outdoor track and field team and they will look to continue that pace Saturday in Princeton, N.J. The Quakers head across the Delaware for the annual Princeton Quad meet against Villanova, Rutgers and the host Tigers.

The meet begins with the hammer at 11 a.m. The first track event is the 4x100 relay at 12:30 p.m., followed by the steeplechase at 12:40 p.m. The Quad meet will come to a close with the 4x400 relay at 2:50 p.m. A complete schedule is listed below.

The Tigers have hosted the non-scoring Quad Meet with these three teams every spring since 2006. Last year, John Carelli reached the regional qualifying mark in the triple jump and moved into seventh all-time in the Penn record books. Brian Fulton won the 1,500 meters and Kevin Benjamin won the 200 meters. The 4x400 relay also claimed victory.

Penn is coming off a very successful home meet. Junior Darryll Oliver and freshman Tim Carey each rank in the top 10 in the nation after their performances at the Penn Invite on April 3. Carey is currently 10th in the country with his time of 51.35 in the 400-meter hurdles. Oliver's time of 1:48.41 is the fourth-fastest collegiate time in the 800 meters this year. Both of those efforts rank in the top-five all-time at Penn. James Foreman also ventured near the top of the school record books, winning the pole vault as just the third Quaker to ever surpass 17 feet in the event. Philip Cawkwell and Luke Grau also won their events.

A complete recap and results from the Princeton Quad meet can be found at shortly after its conclusion. Penn's only other home meet this year is the Penn Relays, where track superstar Usain Bolt will run.
