2009 Indoor Performance List
PHILADELPHIA - It has taken a season-long effort to reach this weekend for the 13 members of the University of Pennsylvania men’s track and field team traveling to the 2009 IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championship, March 7-8, at Boston University in Boston, Mass.
The 88th edition of the IC4A Championship begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the start of the heptathlon events. The first track event begins at 1 p.m. with the preliminaries of the 55-meter hurdles. The first day of competition will wrap up at approximately 4:50 p.m. with the trials of the 1,600-meter relay, in which the Quakers are expected to compete. Sunday starts at 10 a.m. with the heptathlon as track events begin at 12:30 p.m. with the 55-meter hurdle semi-finals. The day wraps up at 2:45 p.m. with the 1,600-meter relay finals. The awards ceremony is slated to begin shortly thereafter at 3 p.m.
Sophomore Taylor Neason, juniors David Lint and Ben McKean, and freshman Brian Rosenthal are to represent the Quakers in the 1,600-meter relay. Penn sophomores Jeff Weinstein and Robert Dugger and freshmen Jared Barchus and Kyle McFadden will fill the distance medley relay team. McFadden, freshmen Joseph Myrie and Brian Fulton, and Dugger have accounted for Penn's best 3,200-meter relay team this season.
Junior John Carelli has qualified for both the triple jump and long jump, while Fulton is eligible for the 500, 800 and 1,000 meters. Neason has also qualified for the 500 meters and sophomore Darryll Oliver has also qualified for the 1,000 meters. Sophomore Luke Grau will run in the 5,000 meters.
In the event that members of the team reach NCAA qualifying times during the meet, they will next travel to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships March 13-14 at College Station, Texas.
