Penn's ECAC Qualifiers
PHILADELPHIA - In the last tune-up prior to the Heptagonal Championships, the University of Pennsylvania men's indoor track and field team heads to the historic Armory Track and Field Center for the Armory Duals Saturday night in New York City.
The meet begins with the men's weight throw and pole vault at 6 p.m. The first events on the track are the semifinals of the 60 meters. The meet, which features Army, Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Lehigh, Maryland, Rutgers, Wake Forest and host Virginia, will conclude with the 4x400 relay at 10:12 p.m.
Last week, freshman Tim Carey won the 400 meters and three more qualified for the IC4A Championships with junior Jeff Weinstein doing so in his third individual event. The distance medley relay had its best time of the year, and three more freshman are coming off impressive performances. Patrick Foley was seventh in the 60 meters, Michael Brown was second in the 60-meter hurdles and Matt Chylak nearly reached the IC4A's in the mile.
The Armory Duals is the last meet of the indoor season before the postseason meets begin, starting with the Heptagonal Championships on Feb. 27-28 in Hanover, N.H.
Complete results from the Armory Duals will be available on PennAthletics.com shortly after the conclusion of Saturday’s events.
