Men's Track and Field Wraps up Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--The Quaker men’s track and field team wrapped up the Wake Forest Open Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C. Anthony Abitante placed fourth in the pole vault and tied Penn’s sixth-best mark (5.05m) in the event.

The sophomore met the NCAA Regional mark, set a personal best and took fourth in the event.

Penn ran four in the 200m dash—Joey Brown (22.08), Sam Shepherd (22.31), Andrew Anderson (22.40) and Jason Ellis (22.73).

In the 400m hurdles, Michael Bale came in 35th with a time of 56.50. Willie Harris came in just behind him at 56.58. Jeremy Sinclair crossed at 57.01 while Ian MacNeil came in a 57.89.

Penn’s 4x100 team came in ninth with a time of 41.34.

The Quakers head to the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md., March 31.
