Men's Track & Field Heads to Giegengack Invite

PHILADELPHIA - After splitting between meets at State College, Pa. and Annapolis, Md., the University of Pennsylvania's men's indoor track and field team reunites to travel to New Haven, Conn., for the Giegengack Invitational this Friday and Saturday at Yale's Coxe Cage.

Friday begins in the evening, with field events leading the way. Starting at 5 p.m., the men will compete in the long jump, high jump and weight throw. On the track, the men’s 5,000 meters begins at 6:40 p.m., and the distance medley concludes Friday’s action at 8:15 p.m.

Saturday begins with the shot put at 9:30 a.m., and track events following at 12:30 p.m., with the 60 meter hurdles. The meet is scheduled to conclude with the men’s 4x400-meter relay at 5:05 p.m.

Last time at for the Quakers, senior Brian Fulton highlighted the split weekend as he posted the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 1,000 meters at the Penn State National. Freshman Brent Jules reached the finals of the 60 meters andEfayomi Carr was fourth in the triple jump.

Last year at the Giegengack Invitational, the Quakers totaled up an impressive six new IC4A qualifying marks, which included four individuals - James Finucane, Matt Chylak, Jeff Weinstein and Luke Grau - and two relay teams.
