RALEIGH, N.C. - Penn All-American Courtney Jaworski led a solid effort by the men's track team this weekend at the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina.
Jaworski placed first in the men's 1,500 with a time of 3:47.52, while the men's 4x800 meter relay team rolled to a first-place finish, clocking in at 7:35.04.
Alejandro Shepard clocked in at 9:34.64 to win the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Larry Contrella ran the unseeded 10,000 in 31:42.16 to place eighth. Michael LaQuaglia placed 15th in the seeded 10,000 with a time of 30:45.03.
Stephen Bachman placed 16th in the men's discus throw with a toss of 42.79 meters.
Other strong relay finishes for the Red and Blue included the 4x100 with a fourth-placefinish at 41.92 and a seventh-place finish in the 1,600 sprint medley with a 3:30.94.
The Quakers are back in action on Saturday, April 1, at the Maryland Invitational in College Park, Md.
