Naltner Named Ivy League Player of the Week

PHILADELPHIA – The Ivy League announced Monday that Penn senior forward Monica Naltner was named Player of the Week for her efforts in both of the Quakers wins.

Naltner was a force in two victories to start the season. She registered her second career double-double with 17 points and 16 boards while playing every minute in the Red and Blue’s 77-65 victory over Rider. The senior tri-captain was a perfect 5-5 from the foul line, while her 16 rebounds set a career high.

In Penn’s season-opener against Lehigh, she had 18 points, just one shy of her career best. Penn opened the season on with a 2-0 record for the second time under Coach Patrick Knapp. The Quakers will look to go 3-0 Tuesday evening when they host La Salle in a Big 5 matchup. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
