NCAA Tennis Individual and Doubles Draws Announced

PHILADELPHIA - The NCAA has announced the individual singles and doubles draws for the Division I Men's and Women's Tennis Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. Play will begin Wednesday, May 23 at 9 a.m. with men's and women's singles. Penn has three players participating: junior Jason Pinsky earned an automatic bid in the singles draw, while freshmen Maria Anismova and Ekaterina Kosminskaya will participate in the doubles tournament.

Pinsky will face junior Bojan Szumanski from Texas Tech in the first round of the singles tournament at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 23. Szumanski, who earned an at-large bid, finished the regular season ranked No. 37 in the nation. He went 21-13 in singles this year, playing mostly in the No. 1 spot.

Doubles pair Maria Anismova and Ekaterina Kosminskaya will face LSU’s Megan Falcon and Hannah Robinson in the first round of doubles, Thursday, May 24, at a time to be determined. Falcon, a sophomore, and Robinson, a freshman, earned an at-large bid to the tournament as they finished the year ranked No. 30 as a pair. Falcon also qualified in the singles draw, and is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation.
