Academic All-Area Releasein PDF Format
PHILADELPHIA - Nick Ryder, a junior member of the Penn men's golf team, is one of six athletes to be named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's Golf Team.
In order to be considered for Academic All-Area, an athlete must be in his second year at his institution and carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of the 28 Philadelphia-area colleges and universities.
Ryder finished the 2006-07 season playing his best golf, as he shot 74-75-70--219 at the NCAA West Regional in Tempe, Ariz. last weekend. He finished second among Penn players at the event, and his final-round 70 was his low round in two seasons at Penn. For the season, Ryder finished with a 77.4 stroke average.
Ryder is an economics major at Penn.
