Philadelphia, Pa. - The No. 22Penn wrestling team(2-2)made a clean sweep of injury-plagued Wagner (0-9) taking the match, 54-0, in Penn's second of three meets on the afternoon at The Palestra. In their six matches wrestled on the mat, the Red and Blue notched three pins, a technical fall and a major decision.
Junior Mike Silengo won by fall over Adam Amster in 1:29 at 133 and senior Matt Smith pinned John Gaeffe in 3:29 at heavyweight. Rookie Chris Banket had the fastest fall on the afternoon pinning Freddy Pontoriero in 33 seconds.
Freshman Jack Kitchen won by technical fall over Anthony Pontoriero, 16-0 at 174. Senior Kyle Bernholz earned a 13-1 major decision over Justin Ensign, while JeffEveleth won a high-scoring match at 141 pounds byedging out Mike Tutunjian, 11-10.
