No. 2 Women's Squash Set to Play Williams

PHILADELPHIA – The Penn women’s squash team is hosting Williams Saturday at 4 p.m. No. 2 Quakers have maintained a perfect season thus far (6-0) and the last regular season loss dates back to Jan. 31, 2007, when Penn fell to rival Princeton. The match tomorrow will be the first of two matches before the all-important contest at Princeton.

In Penn’s last outing, the team downed Franklin & Marshall, 9-0 and not one player on the ladder gave up a signal game as every match was decided in three games. Tara Chawla managed to never surrender a signal point on her way to a 9-0, 9-0, 9-0 finish.

The No. 9 Ephs are currently 7-4 overall and have won their last three matches – most recently over Mt. Holyoke, 9-0. The biggest challenge for Penn will come at the No. 1 position as the Quaker’s Kristen Lange will be matched-up against two-time All-America Toby Erye. Lange, a two-time All-American herself is undefeated thus far, while Erye has dropped several matches. And If history is any indication, the Quakers have a good chance of moving to 7-0 as Penn easily handed Williams a 8-1 loss last season.
