PHILADELPHIA - The Princeton women's squash teambrokea 3-3 tiewith wins atthe No. 1, No. 4, and No. 7 matchesto defeat Penn, 6-3, Wednesday evening at Ringe Courts.

The Quakers (7-2) had their five-game winning streak snapped, while Princeton (4-0) avoided its first loss of the season.

Penn found itself down 3-1 after Princeton reeled off wins at Nos. 6, 8 and 9 to start. Penn's Radhika Ahluwalia got the Quakers' first point in a hard-fought, center-court battle with Lena Neufeld. Down by four points twice in the first game, Ahluwalia rallied to win the game and eventually the match, 3-1 (10-8, 4-9, 9-6, 10-8).

A pair of Quaker wins would then make things interesting. Tara Chawla then won her match at No. 5, 3-0 (9-7, 9-4, 9-7),and Paula Pearson cruised after a tight first game to win 3-0 (10-9, 9-4, 9-7)at No. 2, tying the match at 3-3.

However, the Tigers would get a pair of wins, at No. 4 and then at No.7, to secure the win. With the result already decided, Alisha Turner dropped her match at No. 1 to Claire Rein-Weston, 1-3 (9-7, 5-9, 6-9, 3-9).

Despite the result, head coach Jack Wyant was proud of his team for putting up three points on a team that it lost to 9-0 last season. "No question we did better than last year, but we were hoping to win tonight," he said. "It could have been a little closer, butI'm proud of their effort."

Penn now hits the road for the rest of the season, playing at No. 2 Harvard on Feb. 11 at noon.
