PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Amanda Pacheco was awarded as the Ivy League Co-Player of the Week after leading the Quakers to a pair of four-set victories over Yale and Brown last weekend.
The middle blocker was a force for the Red and Blue in both matches, hitting .404 with 3.0 kills and 1.12 blocks per set, while also chipping in with ten digs over eight sets of action.
On Friday, with victory in the balance and Penn leading 23-21 in the fourth set against the Bulldogs, Pacheco recorded kills on two of the match's final three points to clinch the victory for Penn. She finished the match hitting .370 with 13 kills, five blocks and four digs.
A night later she was equally important as the Quakers dispatched of Brown in four sets, hitting a team-high .450 with 11 kills, six digs and four total blocks. On the season, the sophomore middle blocker leads the Ivy League in hitting (.344) and averages 2.40 kills and .62 blocks per set.
Penn returns to action Friday when it hosts Dartmouth at 7 p.m.
