Pattison Going to Women's National Team Freshman Camp

USRowing Release on Freshman Camp

PHILADELPHIA - University of Pennsylvania freshman coxswain Rachel Pattison has been named to the second session of USRowing’s Women’s National Team Freshman Camp. She will be one of two coxswains at the second session, which will run June 21-27 in Ithaca, N.Y.

Pattison is one of four coxswains who will participate in the two sessions (the first one takes place June 14-20). This marks the second time in as many years that Penn has had a coxswain at the Freshman Camp, as Carey Sloane attended the camp last year.

“It is always very exciting to see our athletes, who have national team goals, go after those goals,” said Penn’s head coach, Mike Lane. “We have some very good coxswains in our program, and Rachel has not only benefited from working with them, but she will now gain a lot from this camp experience.

“Through this spring Rachel has worked with all three of our varsity boats -- the four, the second varsity, and the first varsity,” he continued. “I am most excited to have Rachel come back to the program after camp and share her experiences with the rest of our athletes.”
