Penn Falls to Oregon State in Volleyball

San Diego, Calif. - The University of Pennsylvania volleyball team lost to the Oregon State 3-0, in theopening matchof theUniversity of San Diego Invitational Tournamenton Friday.

FreshmanLaura Blackhad7 kills to pace the Quakers (2-2). TheBeavers (4-3),dominated the first game 30-12, but the Red and Blue fought back, losing the second game 30-27 and the third 30-21.Junior Cara Thomason hadtwo service aces during the match and the team had 4 blocks.Freshman Linda Zhang had 22 set attempts during the match.

Oregon State was led by senior Allison Lawrence, who had 16 kills for the Beavers.

The Quakers are next in action on Saturday, Sept. 17 at10 a.m againstSan Diegoat the University of San Diego Invitational Tournament.
