NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team finished in 10th place at the Yale Fall Invitational, which took place this weekend at the par-70 Yale Golf Course.
The Quakers shot 338-347=685 over the two rounds and finished eight strokes behind ninth-place Bucknell. Rollins College rolled to the team championship, placing four women among the top five individuals and scoring 290-303=593 to defeat host Yale by 21 strokes.
The event featured six of the eight Ivy League schools, as well as Rollins, Georgetown, St. John's and Bucknell.
Meg Bender was Penn's top finisher this weekend. She scored 81-84=165 to tie for 33rd overall. Nicole Kouch was the Quakers' second golfer, shooting 84-83=167 to tie for 41st. Megan Brady (86-89=175) was 51st and Kim Thompson (87-93=180) tied for 54th, while Stephanie Stamas (91-91=182)finished 57th and Alyson Golditch (92-94=186) tied for 61st.
Charlotte Campbell of Rollins College won the individual title, shooting 69-74=143 to finish just three over par and defeat a trio of players -- including two teammates -- by six strokes.
