Penn Gymnastics Ranks 15th in Academics

The University of Pennsylvania gymnasticssquad placed fifteenth in the nation in academics in 2003-04 by posting a 3.3791 GPA. It marked the second straight year that Penn has finished in the top third in the academic rankings, which are conducted by the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women (NACGC/W).

Penn, which won both the Ivy Classic and the ECAC Championship in 2004, was recognized as one of 65 schools to be honored. It marked the Red and Blue’s second-consecutive entry on the team. The Quakers finished twentieth on the national academic rankings in 2003 with a 3.3700 GPA.

Eight members of the Red and Blue were named NACGC/W Scholastics All-Americans. Leading the way was junior Jordan Levy with a 4.00 GPA in Biological Basis of Behavior. Also honored were senior Christina Green, juniors Leah Moon and Yael Sollins and sophomores Kristyn DeMarco, Laura Duros, Jessica Fuerst and Emily Petkun.
